What Makes the Rehoboth Art League So Distinctive

The Rehoboth Art League is set on a wooded 3.5+ acre campus in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Founded in 1938, it remains true to its original purpose as a place where artists gather, teach, and exhibit their work. Today, the organization supports more than 1,000 members, hosts over 150 classes annually, and presents more than 20 exhibitions each year, all while remaining welcoming and accessible to visitors.

At the heart of the campus is the Peter Marsh Homestead, built in the 1740s and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. From May through October, docents welcome visitors inside, offering insight into the home’s history and the early days of the league.

Explore the Galleries, Collections, and Gardens

The main galleries at the Rehoboth Art League campus present a rotation of exhibitions, showcasing both regional and nationally recognized artists. The Member Sales Gallery offers the opportunity to take home a piece of that creativity. The campus is also home to a permanent collection of more than 900 works, many created by prominent Delaware artists and Rehoboth Art League heritage artists.

Just beyond the galleries, the Historic Homestead Garden offers one of the most serene settings on the campus. Conceived by Louise Corkran and executed in 1931 following the restoration of the Peter Marsh Homestead, the garden was designed in the tradition of an American colonial landscape. Today, original areas remain in place, joined by later additions such as the Crown Garden, which honors Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation.
