Explore the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk on Bike or Foot

One of the best things to do on a vacation to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, is exploring local attractions. Perhaps one of the most popular attractions is the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk. With delicious restaurants, charming shops, and stunning views, there’s no shortage of things to explore on foot or by bike. Make enjoying all the boardwalk has to offer a breeze by booking your stay at the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel. We’ve put together this helpful guide to help you explore this unique attraction while you stay at our Victorian-inspired Rehoboth Beach hotel.
Things to Know Before You Explore
Before setting off on your boardwalk exploration, there are a few things you need to know. Between May 15 and September 15, bikes are allowed on the boardwalk only from 5 to 10 a.m. There is no restriction for the rest of the year. You are also not allowed to drink alcoholic beverages or have open containers on the boardwalk.
If you’re hoping to explore the boardwalk without large crowds, we recommend going for an early morning stroll. If you’re looking to explore on two wheels, check out bike rentals from Atlantic Cycles, which has two locations close to the boardwalk, or Rehoboth Cycle Sport.
Top Photo Backdrops
The mile-long path is home to several spots that make the perfect backdrop for a group photo. Of course, we recommend taking a shot at the Boardwalk Plaza’s custom Victorian photo stand, then capture breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean at the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk. The bandstand is a focal point of the area, while Funland Amusement Park is known for its vintage rides and vibrant lights.
Iconic Treats
If you find yourself getting hungry during your adventures, don’t worry. There are plenty of restaurants and places to eat along the boardwalk. Enjoy crispy, golden fries with a splash of vinegar at Thrasher’s French Fries, a boardwalk staple since 1929. Stock up on sweet treats at the Candy Kitchen, or cool off with something from Kohr Brothers Frozen Custard or The Ice Cream Store. If you’re looking for something a bit more filling, pop into Victoria’s, our on-site restaurant.
