It is time to discover the beauty of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. As beaches are starting to open up, we have compiled a list of three unique, distance activities to experience at the grand Rehoboth Beach. No matter how large or small your vacation party is, you will have peace of mind knowing that you can safely enjoy Rehoboth Beach’s sandy shores.
Please keep in mind that masks and mindful social distancing are required throughout the beach and on the boardwalk, per state guidelines. That being said, the entire family can still have a fantastic beach day by following this fun activity guide. We hope you find your own piece of joy at Rehoboth Beach, as it is one of the East Coast’s most family-friendly beach havens.
Pack a Picnic Lunch
We are known as the “Nation’s Summer Capital.” Our beautiful beach is the perfect backdrop for an Instagrammable takeout picnic for all! Lunchtime is always amazing on a beach. Bring a large beach towel, some water bottles, hand sanitizer, and stop by Victoria’s Restaurant in the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel to grab some delicious lobster roll sliders, with a side of cream of crab soup for a scrumptious seafood feast. Are you a fan of late morning indulgence? Try a brunch beach picnic! Our restaurant is open at 10 a.m. for easy online orders of our delicious brunch-ready crème brulée french toast.
A Walk in the Park
Sand is not your forte? Take a nice socially distanced stroll through one of Rehoboth Beach’s scenic parks. Most parks are within good walking distance from our hotel, which makes it a splendid way to safely explore our quaint beach town without being around large crowds. Deer Park is home to six acres of land, home to lovely pine and oak trees. You may even catch a close glimpse of native wildlife, like deer. If the Atlantic Ocean at Rehoboth Beach is too large, swing on by Lake Gerar, a 15-acre park with a freshwater lake and a fishing pier. The city’s Italian garden is also located at Lake Gerar.
Day at the Museum
Celebrate the reopening of the Rehoboth Beach Museum on May 15! Here, you will learn all about the history of having fun at the beach. Vintage swimwear, gear, and old kiddie toys are on display—making for an interesting family activity. This small town museum is run by a friendly, knowledgeable staff who will steer you through the novel history of Rehoboth Beach. There is something for everyone!
