Hit the surf and celebrate the arrival of warm weather with a bike ride on the beach. With plenty of Rehoboth bike trails easily accessible from our hotel, going on a beach bike ride during your stay is an easy and fun way to stay active while on vacation.

Gordons Pond Trail

Within Cape Henlopen State Park, Gordons Pond Trail winds through the park and reveals stunning views of the salt lagoons. This Rehoboth Beach bike trail begins in the parking area and continues north through the state park to Herring Point. The Gordons Pond trail will take you to three scenic views of the lagoons and is perfect for cyclists of all levels.

Junction and Breakwater Trail

The Junction and Breakwater Trail is one of the more traveled Rehoboth Beach bike trails. This six-mile path was once part of the Penn Central Rail line in the 19th century. It now stretches along the southeastern side of Cape Henlopen State Park. On this Rehoboth Beach bike trail, you’ll cross the 80-foot-long railroad bridge overlooking the coastal wetlands and the World War II observation tower. While this trail is a point-to-point trail, there are plenty of scenic stops to help you break up the trail and make the experience as short or as long as you desire.

Loblolly Trail

If you want to explore Trap Pond State Park on foot or by bike, the Loblolly Trail is your best bet when it comes to transversing the 90-acre state park. This varied Rehoboth Beach bike trail includes a short boardwalk over the swamp and a wooded trail that bisects the forest. A popular area for bird watchers, the Loblolly train in Trap Pond State Park is home to a diverse coastal bird population.

For many families, spring and summer mean one thing, a trip to the beach. If you plan on visiting Delaware’s coast this season, stop by the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel for a one-of-a-kind oceanfront getaway experience.
